Preliminary Course Syllabus
Deploying and Managing E-Business
Solutions Using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004
Elements of this syllabus are subject to change.
This two-day instructor-led course provides students with the knowledge and
skills to efficiently and effectively deploy and manage the infrastructure that
integrates systems, employees, and trading partners through orchestration in a
highly flexible and highly automated manner.
After completing this course, students will
be able to:

Describe the core features of Microsoft
BizTalk® Server 2004 and how messaging and orchestration services work
§ Plan and Install a BizTalk Server 2004 Hosting Environment
§ Deploy BizTalk Server Applications
§
Administer a BizTalk Server
Environment
Before attending this course, students must
have:
§ At least two years of experience managing a Windows Server 2003 network.
§ Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server™.
§ Familiarity with a scripting language such as Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition ( VBScript) or Microsoft JScript®.
§ No prior BizTalk Server experience is required.
The student kit includes a comprehensive workbook and other necessary materials for this class.
Module 1: Introduction to BizTalk Server 2004
This module explains how BizTalk
enables you to connect diverse applications, and then to use a graphical
interface to create and modify business processes that use services provided by
those applications.

This module explains how to
plan and perform your BizTalk installation, and then how to configure BizTalk Server 2004 for optimal
use in your business environment.
