Preliminary Course Syllabus

Deploying and Managing E-Business Solutions Using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004

This two-day instructor-led course provides students with the knowledge and skills to efficiently and effectively deploy and manage the infrastructure that integrates systems, employees, and trading partners through orchestration in a highly flexible and highly automated manner.

Audience

This course is intended for systems engineers and network administrators with 2–3 years of experience managing an enterprise-level Microsoft® Windows Server™ environment.

At Course Completion

After completing this course, students will be able to:

§          Describe the core features of Microsoft BizTalk® Server 2004 and how messaging and orchestration services work

§          Plan and Install a BizTalk Server 2004 Hosting Environment

§          Deploy BizTalk Server Applications

§          Administer a BizTalk Server Environment

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, students must have:

§          At least two years of experience managing a Windows Server 2003 network.

§          Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server™.

§          Familiarity with a scripting language such as Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition ( VBScript) or Microsoft JScript®.

§          No prior BizTalk Server experience is required.

Module 1: Introduction to BizTalk Server 2004

This module explains how BizTalk enables you to connect diverse applications, and then to use a graphical interface to create and modify business processes that use services provided by those applications.
